The rich old culture of India can be viewed throughout the country. Indians are by far a very religious community. India did not get its freedom easily. The historical data collected over a period of time point out towards a turbulent history that India has to its name. the oldest known civilization to man, the Indus valley civilization is credited to India which took place in the Indus valley about 4000 years ago. The civilization was a meticulously planned civilization with planned houses, streets and good drainage system. This civilization faded away in due course of time paving way for the Aryans to enter. It is believed that they bought with them the religion of Hinduism and the Sanskrit language. Since then India has seen the birth and death of several empires. The notables among the list include the likes of the Maurya’s and the Gupta’s. apart from these empires there were several regional empires thriving in their regions. Islam found its entry into India with the coming of Afghan rulers like Mohammad Gauri and Mohammad Ghazni. The most significant of all dynasties which emerged in India at this point of time was the Mughals. Founded by Babur this dynasty ruled India for several years under the leadership of several rulers like Akbar, Aurangzeb, Shah Jahan and Jehangir. The Mughal empire slowly weaned away and Bahadur Shah was its last ruler. Following these rulers the next in tow to claim a stake on India was Britain. The first British East India Company set foot in India in 1602 and had come with trading interest. But soon enough the trade interest converted into power hunger and they took over India’s political control. After years of struggle India gained independence in the year 1947. But till then the East India Company’s divide and rule policy had done enough damage and it resulted in the partition of Pakistan from India. Since then India has been continuously striving towards peace, harmony and prosperity.
As mentioned previously India possesses incredible area and packed within it are several surprises and delights. There is something for everyone who wishes to visit this magical mystical land with his own personal view point. The busy Urban hubs of India are in the form of New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata and Chennai. These and a horde of other cities is where the energy, buzz, money and power is concentrated. The states of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh and Sikkim are where these peaks are situated. Travelers visiting India in search of spiritual enlightenment should best head towards the holy cities of Hardwar, Rishikesh, Ajmer, Amritsar, Varanasi, Madurai, Gaya, Ayodhya, Badrinath, Puri,Dharamshala and Mathura. This spiritual route introduces religion in a whole new avtar to the tourists and lets them have an inside view as to how pious, religious and God fearing is the Indian community.
