The withdrawal of the British from the Gulf led to the formation of the UAE which is a combination of 7 sovereign sheikhdoms. Putting forward an amazing blend of traditional Islamic culture and the modern western influence it would not be anyone’s fault if they mistook this country to be any other modern European destination. The country offers world class luxury and ambience to the tourists which are at par to those offered by any other popular tourist attracting haven. Ranging from its duty free shopping to the gold souks of Dubai or the Museums of Abu Dhabi, there is so much to view and soak in that the travel schedule becomes the major restraining force for tourists visiting UAE.
The UAE was formed in 1971 after the British left from the Gulf. It consists of 7 Arab states and despite the religious, political and economic differences between these 7 states the UAE is amongst the most stable countries in the world.
The mention of UAE brings in the images of Dubai. There is something unique in this destination which manages to pull in tourists to visit it. The dazzling gold souks, its world famous shopping festival extravaganza along with its renowned duty free shopping options leaves everyone breathless with excitement and want for more. As exciting as the shopping spree is Dubai’s nightlife. Un numerable options are available here to keep your night alive and kicking. Abu Dhabi, the capital city of UAE is an oil rich country. The recent discovery of oil here makes this city very new in regard to the others. With sky scrapers doting its skyline the city has a very modern feel to it. The local feeling and flavor of the city can be got by touring its mosques and markets. Mingling with the local population is the best way to understand the place first hand. Another important destination worth visiting is Al Ain. The city houses the Al Ain museum and the Eastern fort which has lots of interesting objects on display including jewellery, weaponry and Bedouin artifacts. Located in the backdrop of the Al Hilla fort is the Buraimi souk which is a huge fruit and vegetable market. On Friday winter mornings the city plays host to camel racing events which bring in tourists from all over.
Also worth indulging are the camel safari’s which will take you on an overnight adventure into the heart of the desert and also provide you with the opportunity to spend some time with a Bedouin and experience his life first hand. The destination of Sharjah is by all means a true architectural city. Placing emphasis on this claim is the fact that the city is home to the largest mosque in the entire country of UAE besides having to its credit a miniature Disney world, a blue souk and an absolutely incredible archeological museum. A great place to indulge in fine Persian carpets, Sharjah has enough to satisfy each genre of tourist visiting the place.
Progress, prosperity and pomp is what truly defines UAE. A great destination to experience adventure from the lap of luxury.
